The latest weather report by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) continues to show what we have been witnessing for quite some time. Dense fog in the early hours in some areas, while in other places the clouds give way to rain.
Dense fog in Punjab, Haryana, Assam, Meghalaya
The IMD has said that dense fog is expected to be seen in isolated pockets over Punjab, Haryana, Assam and Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura in the morning hours during the next 4 days.
Rainfall in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep
The forecast said that light to moderate rainfall is expected at isolated places with isolated thunderstorm, lightning in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Mahe and Lakshadweep today and will decrease significantly later.
Rainfall/snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal, Uttarakhand
As per the IMD, isolated light rainfall/snowfall can be seen over Jammu-Kashmir-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh during December 22-24 and over north Punjab, north Haryana and Uttarakhand on December 23.
The IMD’s report added, “No significant weather likely over remaining parts of the country during next 5 days.”
Temperature in New Delhi
The RWFC New Delhi has predicted that the maximum temperature in New Delhi today will be 23 degree Celsius, while the minimum the city could hit is 6 degree Celsius. At the time of writing this report, New Delhi’s temperature was hovering around 7 degree Celsius, while the people in Mumbai were enjoying 23 degree Celsius.
The RWFC said that New Delhi will be having partly cloudy skies today.
Over the next few days, New Delhi’s minimum temperature is expected to be in the range of 5-9 degree Celsius.
The IMD has said no “significant change” in minimum temperatures is expected over Northwest, Central and East India during the next 2 days and will rise by 2-3°C thereafter.
