A 30-year-old software engineer from Karnataka’s Bagalkot was detained in connection with the security breach case of Parliament on December 13, reports The Indian Express.

Delhi Police Special Cell officers said that the person has been Saikrishna Jagali, son of a retired police officer, a deputy SP-rank officer, from Bagalkot. Saikrishna works with a multinational company.

His name came up during the interrogation of Manoranjan D, who was arrested last week. He and another accused Sagar Sharma had allegedly jumped from the visitor’s gallery in the Lok Sabha hall when the Winter Session of Parliament was going on.

They used coloured smoke canisters and were caught by parliamentarians. Two others – Neelam Azad and Amol Shinde – protested outside the Parliament’s premises using coloured canisters.

All of them were arrested, and later police arrested Lalit Jha, who is alleged to be the “mastermind” behind the attack, and Mahesh Kumawat for aiding the accused.

An officer told IE that Saikrishna is one of the conspirators in the case, and call records between him and Manoranjan D showed that both of them were in touch at the time of the incident. They have been planning the protest for days now.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, a 50-year-old man Atul Kulshershtha was picked up from Jalaun district in Uttar Pradesh. Police said that Kulshershtha is unemployed and was looking for “easy money” through the incident.
